A Missionary’s Job
A missionary’s job is not done once a church has been established. Many people believe that is the case, but more work is ahead. The church must be firmly set in the community before the job is done. If a missionary sets up a church and then walks away, the people may let the church lag as they don’t know what to do next. New Tribe Mission ensures this does not happen. When a missionary moves into an area, it is for an extended period of time and may even be for years to come. He learns the language and teaches the word of God in that language. He then helps natives set up a church to spread the word of God and assists the natives in spreading the word. This way once he knows the church is firmly established he can move on knowing the his job has been made easier by teaching others to lead rather than himself.
