     Pilgrims Hope Family Shelter Program

In addition to safe temporary shelter, families residing at the program site receive support services to help them help themselves. Families are offered help with:

-Time Management
-Vocational/educational counseling (provided by Road to Responsibility, Head Start GED program, Plymouth Public Library Literacy Program)
-Housing search services (provided by South Shore Housing)
-Nutrition training (provided by UMass Extention)
-Budgeting
-Training in independent living skills
-Case management
-Parenting education groups

The goal is for families to move from the shelter into safe housing they can afford. We teach families to live productive, self-sufficient lives by offering opportunities to gain skills and enhance family living.

Our programs are funded by the Department of Transitional Assistance, FEMA, Private foundations, United Way of Greater Plymouth, Project Bread and donations from community members, organizations and local businesses.

     Children’s Holiday Fund

Through generous donations from the community, our Children’s Holiday Fund provides gifts to children under 18 years of age.  Eligible families may apply for assistance beginning October 1st.  Applications must be picked up in person Monday through Friday between 10am and 3pm.  Applications will not be mailed out. Applications must be returned by December 1st.

Please make sure your application is complete and all requested verifications are included.  Incomplete applications will not be processed.

You or your organization can adopt a family for the holidays. You will receive a profile of the family and their wish list. It is a great way to celebrate the holidays and make a difference for one family in a personal way. The family will write to you to acknowledge your gift.
