Keep your information up to date at the child benefit office
I had my child move back with me after a year of living with her Father last June. My Daughter was to attend a new College so I applied in May for child benefit agency to inform them of the situation.I had not claimed child benefit for the year that she lived with her Father as I was not entitled to it.The day she moved in I still had not heard anything from them and it was now June. I rang the child benefit office to advise them that she was now living with me to process my claim. I asked if they needed any more information from me and I was told no.Weeks went by with a call made every week until I finally got to February 2010! My patience had worn thin by now. I finally spoke to a senior in the department after 9months from applying for child benefit! I was advised I had not told them the new college name of where my Daughter had now been attending for nearly 6 months, which I had clearly wrote down details of on the application!!
