No more consumer exploitation by wholesalers or retailers
Business practices in the UK had deteriorated following unfair practices by local wholesalers and retailers. Both goods and services offered were not up to standard and that called for the drafting of the consumer rights act 1982. Mr. Brown a 73 year old man recalls how business was in that time, “you may go to a shop and purchase an electronic gadget, for example a water pump, when you reach in the house and try it out you find that it is not working at all,” he added, “if you happen to return it in the shop you bought, the retailer simply chases you away and purports that you are the one who interfered with its mechanism.” These he said are just but some of the bills that the government passed to protect the common man. According to the consumer protection rights, all goods should have a warranty and consumers of any social status should be treated equally.
